Savannah Taste Experience Food Tour

When we arrived in Savannah, Georgia, the first thing we did was parked the car in front of the meeting place of our Savannah Taste Experience Food Tour. The tour that we joined was their Famous & Secret East Side Tour where we explored the more off-the-beaten-path.

The starting location where we met was the first location in our food tour (421 E. Broughton St). We started at Capital Bee Company, a gift shop beautifully curated on all things bee. At their tasting bar, we enjoyed the different honey they have from bee farmers around the country. We also get to taste Savannah cheese straws (an acquired taste), Dr. Pete’s Chipotle Grilling Sauce (So good!), Raspberry honey that pairs well with cheese, and bee pollen (a tour group mate tried it).

After honey, we walked to one of the numerous squares of Savannah and tasted Sly’s Sliders’ pulled pork slider. The onion strips were crunchy and yummy, the pulled pork was juicy but the sauce lacks a little bit of oomph. Since we didn’t have any lunch, this was the first savory food in our tummy but a slider was not enough.
