Heading Back To Work!!!

This is the longest that I’ve been out of work. My last workplace was in Dublin, CA working for Ross Dress for Less at their corporate office way back in Oct 2019. That was before I got married and moved to High Point, North Carolina. After the wedding, we did some traveling before COVID happened. Then, with everything shut down, it was hard to find work. Moreover, in the 4th quarter of 2020, I had brain surgery and radiation treatment.

After I was given a clear ok to work earlier this year by the radiation oncologist and my husband, I started looking for remote work in my field of lease administration or lease accounting. I had some interviews but no job offers. When I was fully vaccinated, my husband agreed that I can find work in our area which is in-office.

In May, I found two open positions for lease accounting specialist and lease administration specialist at Tanger Outlets. The initial position I applied and interviewed for was lease accounting specialist. After my initial interview with the company recruiter and the VP of lease accounting, I was informed that a company restructuring was in progress and the position was put on hold.

The recruiter suggested that I applied for the other position I’m interested in which was lease administration specialist. After a series of interviews where I got to know more about the role and other open positions, they gave me a choice which role I wanted. After talking with my husband, I opted for the lease administration specialist position which is a remote position.

After I sent an email on my decision on which role I prefer, I got a call from the hiring manager an hour later informing me that they are offering me a job as lease administration specialist. They sent me an email with the offer and what the next steps are. I passed the background check and have gotten my equipment to perform the work at home.

Starting on Monday, August 2, I will be working as lease administration specialist for Tanger Outlets. I’m a bit nervous and excited as I’ve never been in a role where I’m working remote. My manager said that she never realized this role can be remote until COVID started.

Wish me luck! I’m hoping this would be the company I would retire from. Don’t worry about my blog and instagram accounts, I will continually post on them. Here’s to new beginnings! Cheers!
