Emergency Alerts Going Wild

Last Thursday, March 18, everyone was on edge as we had a severe weather threat in our area. As I mentioned in my previous post, we weren’t even sure if our vaccine appointment will push through due to the weather. After Waze brought us to an unseen Starbucks location, we decided to order dinner at Bonchon Chicken in downtown Greensboro. As we expected body ache and malaise after the vaccination, we didn’t want to cook dinner.

While my husband picked up the order, the first of the series of Emergency Alerts started on my phone. Since we were still out on the road, we were not sure where the closest substantial shelter is in our area. I was a bit paranoid and have been looking out on the window of our car. When my husband came back to the car with our dinner, he told me to be his eyes and be on the lookout of any flying debris.

Starbucks for Life

Every year during the Christmas season, Starbucks usually launch their Starbucks For Life game.  As usual, with my luck on raffle and game prizes, I’m not expecting anything.  This year, the game will end on January 4.  The good thing about this game is you can actually play it without purchasing anything.  You just need to scroll down towards the bottom on the fine print to get a game play.

So far, I’ve won 50 stars and a lot of missing one item for each of the categories.  Last year, I won the Christmas card set and some stars.  Should I hope for something and be disappointed or be positive and claim that I will win?

Love From Seoul!!!

Hello everyone!  I’m here at an internet cafe, relaxing and waiting for my friend to come back from his date.  In any case, Korea is pretty nice.  Well, I haven’t been to all places yet.  We went to Dongdaemun twice already and spent a lot of money.  I’m quite happy with the pieces I’ve bought and I’m pretty sure I’ll be wearing it for quite some time.  It’s not really cheap if you compare it to China but the quality and the design is much better.

Our hotel is located at Itaewon which is a tourist district with a lot of foreigners.  Just outside the hotel, we have Coldstone Creamery!  Sweet!  It’s even cheaper than in the US.  We also have two Starbucks coffee shop (Don & Gold got your Seoul & Korea Tumblers!), KFC, Mcdonalds, shopping area and bars.  We’re in a pretty good location as both the airport bus and subway stop is just in front of the hotel.  I haven’t seen any stars yet but we haven’t been to their Rodeo Drive.

We didn’t go to Lotte World yet as it’s quite far and pretty pricey.  Also, we need the whole day there which we don’t have as we prefer to shop.  Tomorrow, we’ll be going to Myaeong-dong, a palace, Seoul Tower and a Korean village.  We haven’t had the chance to eat at a good Korean place so it’s a shame.    Well.. I’m off for now.   I’ll be writing from Beijing next time.

Starbucks Australia – Tumbler and Mugs

A friend of mine was sent to Sydney for training last January and as a fairy godmother to a small community of Starbucks collectors in the Philippines, I asked her to purchase some merchandise for me.

I told her to get me two Sydney tumblers and a Sydney and Melbourne mug.  When she came back, she brought one Sydney tumbler and and Australian mug.  *sigh*  She mistakenly ordered the Hangzhou tumblers as well which I’m currently selling to interested buyers.

In any case, here are the pictures of the tumbler and mug she bought for educational purposes. 😛

Starbucks Hong Kong – Mini Mugs & Tumbler

starbucks-clearStarbucks is gaining popularity in Asia and one of the things my cousins await are their new releases of city tumblers/mugs or unique and beautiful merchandise.  In my previous posts, I mentioned that one of my cousins collect tumblers while the other collect mugs.  Through the power of google, the list of people who I know and collects tumblers and mugs have increased.  When I went to Europe, I dragged along two Czech Republic tumblers for my cousin and Don and a mug from Frankfurt and Vienna to Alvin.

So, when I had time to kill during my layover in Hong Kong.  I made a beeline straight to the Starbucks shop at the transfer area of HK airport.  Lo and behold, they have the elusive Starbucks clear tumbler which was already sold out in Beijing and Manila.  They had several more of it and I grabbed two because Don and Gold wanted them.  The good thing about it, it’s on sale for HK$68.  When I went back after my stay in the Philippines a week later, it’s no longer available and it’s a shame as Gold wanted two more.
